Over the past few months, there have been a lot of reports regarding upgrades to the WhatsApp system. The social app which started off as a medium for communication now does more than just communication. WhatsApp is now grading into a “marketplace” for business elites. The app is also becoming a meeting place for white-collar workers. Now, there is a new feature that will benefit several groups within WhatsApp. In addition to the “cover photo” feature for business accounts, Whatsapp Group Polls is now available for groups.
As of now, this feature can be verified for WhatsApp for iOS. The latest iOS WhatsApp better is version 18.104.22.168. After rolling out this version, the company also released a new option “My Contacts Except…” for some beta testers. The WhatsApp Group Polls will be available in a feature update but the feature is currently in testing.
Just like other polls on apps like Twitter, the WhatsApp Group Polls allows users to create an in-app poll and send it to the members of a group to vote. The process of creating the poll as well as voting is quite easy and straightforward. As of now, the feature is still in development. Thus, there are no specific details on what and where to click for the poll. Nevertheless, it is a simple process where WhatsApp will ask “What is your poll question”. After imputing the question, it will then prompt you to include voting options.
WhatsApp Group Polls appearance
From the latest information regarding WhatsApp Group Polls, the display interface when sending a poll has been revealed. When the poll appears on the group, users will have to pick an option and then click on “Vote”. After clicking on “Vote”, your option will be shared with other members of the group. However, group members will not know that the vote is coming from you. Furthermore, the poll is end-to-end encrypted, so nobody can see the content, not even WhatsApp.
As of now, WhatsApp Group Polls is still in its early stages of development. Thus, there is a lot of work to be done before this feature is completely ready. In all honesty, this feature will most likely take a lot of time before arriving for every WhatsApp user. We can also confirm that WhatsApp is also developing this feature for Android. Thus, Android beta testers will soon be able to get a feel of this feature.
