Once I took my canine out this morning I heard some birds chirping that I hadn’t heard in just a few months. That is a positive signal that spring cannot be too far-off. The sounds of the birds this morning jogged my memory of a TED-Ed lesson about hen migration. Fowl Migration, A Perilous Journey teaches viewers some statistics about songbird migration, the position of hen migration within the ecosystem, and the man-made challenges dealing with songbirds on their annual migrations.

Functions for Schooling
After watching the video and finishing the lesson questions, a subsequent step is to have college students head to Challenge FeederWatch the place they’ll see maps of hen migration patterns.

Challenge Feeder Watch is a public mission. You and your college students can contribute to the mission by counting birds at a web site close to your college and even in your college yard.
